Riva Starr & Fatboy Slim (feat. Beardyman) - Get Naked (Louis La Roche 'Is it summer yet?' Remix)

Just a quick one, we all have our favourite and LLR is certainly one of ours. Great remix of a great track, good bouncy French disco styled and reworked beat. It does already make us look forward to summer.

Other Media - Machete on DVD & BluRay

"That's not a knife...oh, wait....yes it is. It's lots of knives."

Within the first 5 minutes of Robert Rodriguez’ Machete all taste, decency and logic has been completely abandoned in favour of madness, cartoonish ultra-violence and a woman hiding a mobile phone up her twat. The opening scenes are so brilliantly in-yo-face that it’s like driving past a not just a car crash, but a pile-up of clown cars and vans full of fireworks. Picture this: we open on a dusty Mexican highway with our hero Machete (Danny Trejo – a man SO HARD I think his moustache could whip me at arm wrestling on its own) and his reluctant Federalé partner disobeying direct orders and speeding toward a drug lord’s hideout to save a kidnapped girl. The partner doesn’t last very long of course. He is almost instantly rubbed out by bad-guy gunfire leaving Machete to humbly apologise to a corpse (“.…lo siento….”). He then proceeds to cut off a man’s arm and use it to shoot yet more baddies. Then he cuts off a bloke’s head and for good measure cuts the head in half (I believe this is commonly known as a ‘belt & braces’ approach). More decapitations then follow and a couple of skewerings - blood is exploding all over the stereotyped Mexican mise-en-scene as Machete finally finds the ridiculously beautiful and completely naked girl and attempts to haul her out to safety. She tries to coax him into bed first of course, but he shuns her advances so she stabs him in the thigh. Our bollock naked damsel in distress then pulls the aforementioned phone out of her lady-pocket and we learn of Machete’s double crossing.

Miike Snow - Devil's Work

It seems like an eternity since something new came out from the geniuses that are Karlsson, Winnberg & Wyatt but the wait is over. Their fantastic hugely successful debut album was such an inspiration to me that was one of the things that convinced me to try and get into radio, to share music like this with the world.

I digress, the new track has the Miike Snow stamp on it, high pitching melodic singing, fast drum beats and solid piano chords. However, for me, it fails to make that initial factor of amazement, possibly I have become a little more de-sensitised to them from listening to their self title first album for over a month when it was first released. Having said that I like this more and more when I listen again.

Judge for yourselves.....

Long Beach City Kids - Chuwee feat. Real Caviar

We adore the LBCK, this is music how it was meant to be, fast, lively and exciting. Not to everyone's taste but you might be able to call this a guilty pleasure.Alex Noble and Luigi III are again like a lot of producers very much disco inspired however as they say on their Soundcloud page ' Their unique style is highly versatile, but can be best described as the uncharted realm where big-room funk meets crafty synths, epic builds and viciously heavy drums.'

This new track with Chuuwee is no different, which is due for release on the 16th December, and features the hip-hop artist that is very laid back and deliberate as seems to be the trend now. It works very well and you find yourself bouncing your head to the beat almost immediately.

Check out their most brilliant video to another track 'Start' which was release almost a year prior to the current one.

Oskar - 30,000 Feet Above

Nu-disco is going from strength to strength and I would same the same about Oskar. Oskar reigns from Melbourne with a love of late New York style Disco & French House. He only began making music in 2010 from his home town in Melbourne. He is currently seeking new management according to his soundcloud.

I my my discovery of Oskar through his recent EP entitled 'Oh My!' which has a disco nuances that could resonate through any decade since the disco revolution. However he stamps his own chop and change fresh new mark on this.

I immediately download most of his back catalogue, as you should to if you like, which i have most kindly put all in one place, after the jump.

Louis La Roche - F.U.B.A.R

Plain and simple a new free download from the 21 year old producer from Norwich that is Louis La Roche, he is quite possible the best thing to come our of Norfolk since Alan Partridge, Coleman's Mustard and Lord Nelson.

Check out this track that could have come straight out of the 80s with it's huge guitar riffs. Look out for his ever nearer debut album. F.U.B.A.R stands for fucked up beyond all recognition, just so you know.
