La Zebra - After School EP

This is fresh in from La Valigetta Label, it is sure to create a buzz as a lot of their music they produce does:

22-year-old, DJ and Producer Luigi III started to compose tracks under the name La Zebra from his college dorm room, and in just a few short months thereafter, his work had begun to gain worldwide exposure.
Pulling heavy influences from the golden years of disco, La Zebra s sound is as funky as it gets. With his originals being remixed by many distinguished disco house talents such as Justin Faust, Xinobi, The Phantom’s Revenge, Leonardus and of course, Luigi s very own, LBCK.
Playing in various clubs up and down Southern California (& now Europe), La Zebra has shared the stage with some of the worlds most recognized dance music talents, such as Treasure Fingers, Classixx, Steve Aoki, Steed Lord, Villians and more.

Alex Metric- Ammunition EP

Metric has wrapped up with Rave Weapon single into a lovely little EP so it can go in your MP3 player with a lovely logo and allsorts, what a lovely fellow.

It's good as well, no wonder so many people in the music industry are loving what he is doing, even Miike Snow have tapped him up into their new label venture, ROBOTBERGET & InGRD

The second track, Andbody Else has a Daft Punk nu-disco aeroplane feel about it, everything that we love right now. Long gone are the days when I was the only person dancing at his gigs (see picture after the jump)

Cypress Hill feat. Deadmau5 - Failbait

When I first ever heard Deadmau5 I never thought I would hear him doing a track with an East LA rap posse but that it what has happened and full credit to Mr Zimmerman as he has produced a fine sounding track.

Deadmau5 hasn't done what I first thought he would and simply put electronic synths to appeal to mass audiences who enjoy what right now. He has obviously studied Cypress Hill's style and technique and adapted a clever break beat esque loop behind then which reminds me of the work of English electronic producers who work with UK Hip-hop groups like Scruff, samples galore are chucked in and it works so well.

Expect this tune to grow and grow on you. More Cypress Hill after the jump, for nostalgia you see.

Burial - Shell Of Light (Louis La Roche House Edit)

He gone an done a little remix! This is Burial tracks from about 5 years ago now, it comes out of the Mercury nominated Untrue album.

LLR said ' I've had this idea stuck in my head for years, so i just went for it. Simple, relaxing, hopefully effective!' He is right, it is!

Riva Starr & DJ Sneak – Manduka / Batería Fantástica @ WMC 2012

Riva starr has been exploring his talents lately and has most recently come up with this, Bateria Fantastica, a compilation album with some exclusive and original South American cuts.

Originally hailing from Naples but now based in London Riva starr, aka Stefano Miele has pulled in some heavy influences from South American culture infused with the hybrid of their US immigrant relatives music of the early Miami days. Also Stefano cites his inspiration for the compilation coming squarely from his Southern Italian roots

This album has pulled in some big names including DJ Sneak, Guti, Jon Rundell & Carl Cox to name a few. It is available via Beatport


Riva has dropped this just in time for the WMC in Miami, what time & better place to do this. They will have an album launch event on the 22nd March.

Bobby Womack - Please Forgive My Heart

Wow, Bobby's back, with a career that now spans 51 years, this tack is a testament to talent and that if you have it you can stand the test of time, moving and adapting to appeal to a new demographic of listeners.

This is in the same vain as the recently descesed Gil Scott Heron, how made an absolutely stand out and must own album, I'm new here, with Jamie XX.

This release from Bobby Womack produced by Blur boy Damon Albarn and XL big wig Richard Russell who worked on the Gil Scott I'm new here album. The bluesy minimal track hits an instant chord with us.

Please Forgive My Heart is the first from the LP that will be released on XL June 12 entitled 'The Bravest Man In The Universe'. It is his first album in over 12 years.
