PBR Streetgang - You Ready

I have to add this as I cannot get this mix out of my head, alas not many people will actually be able to hear the finished copy of this as I spoke to the lovely Jamie Russell from Hypercolour, the label releasing this and they have confirmed that there will only be 300 copies of this being made on white label vinyl only. So no MP3 for us. :(

Make do for now with this clip for now and just sing it in your head as a special treat.

Drop Out Orchestra featuring Christopher Norman - In the Dark

I can't help but look at these two artists and think of an uncle who can't quite let go of his youth, still staying up drinking all night at dodgy bars in town and always with an unsuitable much younger woman on his arm every time you see him. A musician that never quite made it if you will.

The Swedish duo, signed to the Eskimo Records label, are a refreshing change to a genre that has been undated with people mimicking what has been successful before it.

They mix crisp guitar riffs with big basslines and cascading synths to great effect and the NSFW remix creates a nice 80s electro feel to it, whihc is exactly what I would have done!

Check out some other great bits of music my Drop Out orchestra after the jump...

Kahn - Angeles

Like many of Kahns previous tracks, Angeles takes a catchy vocal progression, cuts it up and uses it as a coagulant for his liquid synth and understated drums. Pure garage influence on this one, the level of restraint is perfect, with the omnipresence of it about to really kick off throughout the tune, and knowing what Kahn is like with VIP's, expect a punchier reiteration in the future. A solid follow up to the recent Margeaux EP, with a stronger and accessible vibe, it is definately more dancefloor friendly, albeit in a completely different way to the recently (and limitedly) pressed, aptly named Percy.
Dropped a week or so ago digitally, vinyl also out now, release by Bristols Soul Motive. Remix by Superisk on the flip.
