Sascha Cawa & Martin Dahl - Deeper - Nico Stojan Remix

A familiar face on Berlin's underground house scene and known to bust out a clarinette mid set, Nico Stojan brings a soulful remix of Sascha Cawa & Martin Dahl's Deeper. This trio of germans drop some emotive vocals 3 mins in which couldn't come any sooner

Julio Bashmore - Husk

Brand new release from Julio's own label Broadwalk Records, always going to be hard to follow up from THE track of the summer 2012.

This is a slow starter with a simple clap beat and sound effects be throw out but develops into a great track, Bashmore builds and builds on this as the tune moves on.

Not his finest work but it's different and interesting and shows he doesn't want to sounds like a carbon copy on the scene.

Father Father after the jump for a treat....

Flume - Holdin On

I've been following Flume for quite some time now and played many tracks of his on the show. This is one of the best, tapping into the Garage sounds that are ever popular at the moment mixed with hip hop break beats, the Sydney based producer has create something pretty special here. This cross over makes this type of track unique, a head nodding number is what it is.

Real name Harley Streten is signed to the brilliant Australian label Future Classic, some tracks on his are more like M83 some are just plain big. I recommend looking up both's back catalogues if you like this. A few on my favourite of Flume's remixes and originals after the jump....

And a link to his competition that he just ran, on Beatport, to remix one of his latest tracks...

This week the lads are talking Romney, Pulling, Lance Armstrong and throw in what some would perhaps call an uncomfortable amount of masturbation jokes.

Some might say that this is a sign of the fall of society. A symbol of everything that's wrong with the youth of today. But those people are FOOLS. We're nothing more than pioneers on a vessel of music and chat sailing towards freedom.

JOIN US ON OUR JOURNEY. Bring some wanking jokes.

Justin Martin - Don't Go (Dusky Remix)

Dusky does it again with another cheeky remix. This time they show Justin Martin's Don't Go a bit of their melodic magic love. Justin lays the foundations for an already very uplifting and orchestral track while Dusky gives it the energy to deliver that punch. Love the harp and bass. Released 16/10 from Justin Martin - Ghettos & Gardens Remixes Vol. 1 on dirtybird If you like this check out SIDEXSIDE tomorrow at CRUCIFIX LANE where dirtybirds Justin Martin and Redlight will be playing. Tickets are close to sold out!

Ben Howard - The Fear (Moonlight Matters Rework)

Well this is a refreshing track, a rework of Ben Howards acoustic original, this is chipry and feel good so much so that it isntantly strikes a chord with the listener. The second half on the track builds slowly to a explosion of happiness, like the end of a hollywood feel good film but better.

Moonlight Matters cleary knows his stuff as this rework is seamless.

Solid Fix - A brand new mix

A mix that sounded better last night after a few than it does in the cold light of day to be perfectly honest with you. This is a first recording of off my spanking new control panel.

However after a shakey start it becomes a brilliant mixtape of all of my favourite tunes at the minute. Treat yo Self.

Track list after the bounce.

Chvrches - The Mother We Share

I really really like Churches or Chvrches as they need to be spelt when you search then on the internet that they had these days. I found out about them when I went to a gig at Camden Koko and they were supporting a headliner act.

They are a synth band with a whole lot about them and here is a remix that someone did for them. Listen if you want.

Electric Sheikh - October 4th 2012

Electric Sheikh - October 4th 2012 by Electric Sheikh on Mixcloud

On this week's Electro Sheikh humanity recoils and gasps in amazement as the great minds of Nate Goodman and Cian Agnew finally do battle with Ollie Hughes of Scarlett's Roses. They clash on all the big topics of the day including a man who thinks he's Batman, how best to get off with a lady, what's the best sweet from the 90s and of course, how many people can you fit on a whale's tongue?

Miss this and fall behind the rest of the Human Race. Plus all the best new tunes from round the world including music from Justin Martin,

Other Media - Killing Them Softly

Look at Brad Pitt's right hand. That's been on Jolie's boobs.

Killing Them  Softly is a film which has left me feeling slightly empty. Usually I come out of a cinema feeling either elated for having seen something brilliant that I can’t wait to tell everyone about, or full of horrible wanky scathing sarcasm that I can vent over the airwaves on Reprezent. This film though. It smacks of ‘meh’
.
Set during the lowliest of the low points of economic downturn and to the soundtrack of speeches from the US Presidential elections of 2008, It tells the story of a pair of low rent criminals who are tasked by their boss to rob a high stakes poker game.  Trouble inevitably ensues, and various hitmen are called upon to murder various people in various ways over various days. Pretty standard stuff, and I guess that’s why I feel pretty underwhelmed by the whole thing. It’s not exactly territory that’s never been touched before, and the story seems like it should have a black comedy feel to it along the lines of Slevin or maybe even something Guy Ritchie threw together while not sweeping chimneys. It’s played so straight though that it’s almost disjointed – and while the film is really brilliantly directed (one death scene in particular is captivating. Who could have known a bullet to the face could look so appealing?) and every single performance is flawless, you just know what’s round the corner at every turn.

Look out for yet another brilliant performance from James Gandolfini as an alcoholic New York hitman struggling to get the job done due to his own demons - one of the 2 most interesting characters who are criminally underused. Other than that, will someone PLEASE throw a pie?
